How to Know Your Filters Need Replacing

Most facilities wait until something breaks. These four signals tell you it’s time before a violation or shutdown forces the decision.

Pressure Drop Above 6″ W.G.

When airflow restriction climbs past 6 inches of water gauge, your filters are blinded. Energy costs rise and capture efficiency drops — often before your pressure gauge alarm triggers.

Visible Stack Emissions

Any visible dust or particulate at the exhaust point is an immediate EPA and OSHA compliance failure. If your stack is smoking, you’re already in violation — don’t wait for the inspection.

Worker Air Quality Complaints

Dust migrating from collector back into the plant points to filter failure or bypass. Beyond the health risk, it’s a leading indicator of a system that won’t survive an OSHA inspector’s walk-through.

Failed Compliance Inspection

A DHA or OSHA inspection finding related to your collector is the most expensive way to discover a filter problem. Our pass-or-free guarantee means we fix it at no charge if a system we specify fails.

Filter Media Selection Guide

Your dust type, operating temperature, and moisture conditions determine which media works — and which will fail. Here’s what each option handles well.

Polyester Felt

The workhorse for general manufacturing applications. Handles most dry dust streams effectively at temperatures up to 275°F. Cost-effective, readily available in custom sizes.

Max 275°F

Polypropylene

Strong moisture and chemical resistance makes this the right call for food processing, pharmaceutical applications, and any process with condensation risk or acid gas presence.

Max 200°F

PTFE Membrane

For sticky, hygroscopic, or very fine sub-micron dust. The membrane surface prevents depth-loading and keeps pulse cleaning effective. Highest efficiency at 99.999% rated capture.

Max 350°F

Nomex / Aramid

The standard for hot-side metal recovery and high-temperature process applications. Continuous service to 400°F with excellent dimensional stability under thermal cycling.

Max 400°F continuous

P84 (Polyimide)

When you need both high heat and chemical resistance, P84 handles what Nomex can’t. Common in waste incineration, chemical processing, and high-temperature metal applications.

Max 450°F

Fiberglass

Extreme heat applications — cement kilns, power generation, refuse incineration. Handles continuous temperatures up to 500°F+ and resists most corrosive gas environments.

Max 500°F+

Support Cage Options

The cage keeps your filter bag in shape under pulsing pressure. Choosing the wrong material accelerates bag wear and shortens filter life.

Galvanized Steel

Standard for most dry applications in normal temperature and humidity ranges. Cost-effective with good structural rigidity. Available in 5, 10, and 20-wire configurations to match your bag length.

304 / 316 Stainless Steel

Required for corrosive environments, food-grade applications, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and any process with acid gas or moisture exposure. 316 provides additional chloride resistance.

Epoxy-Coated Steel

A cost-effective middle ground between galvanized and stainless. Adds a corrosion-resistant coating layer for moderately aggressive environments where full stainless is over-spec.

Quick-Release Top-Load

If your facility changes filters frequently, this configuration cuts changeout time significantly. No tools required at the bag-to-cage connection. Popular in high-production woodworking and food processing.

How to Order Your Replacement Filters

You need three measurements and the filter count. We handle the rest.

1

Measure Your Bags

Diameter, length, and cage wire count. If you have the OEM part number, that works too.

2

Tell Us Your Dust

Type, temperature, moisture level, and any chemical exposure. This determines the right media.

3

Get Your Quote

Same-day quote with material recommendation, pricing, and lead time for your quantity.

4

Ships in 3–7 Days

In-stock sizes ship within 3 days. Custom sizes in 5–7 business days to AZ, CA, NV, NM, UT.

Compliance Standards We Meet

Every filter we supply comes with full documentation for your compliance file.

Meets All Major Standards

OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1000 — Air contaminants table PELs for all covered dust types

EPA PM2.5 and opacity requirements — Stack emission limits and visible emissions standards

NFPA 660 — Current unified combustible dust standard (effective January 1, 2026)

Test reports and Certificates of Conformance available for every filter type on request

Common Questions

What facility managers ask us before placing their first order.

Can you match OEM part numbers from Donaldson, Camfil, or Parker?
Yes. We cross-reference part numbers from Donaldson Torit, Camfil APC, Parker Hannifin, Imperial Systems, Nederman, and most other major manufacturers. Send us the part number or the bag dimensions and we’ll match it — often at 10–25% below OEM pricing.
What if my bags are a non-standard size?
Custom sizes are a standard part of what we do. As long as you can give us the diameter, length, top snap configuration, and wire count, we can manufacture to spec. Custom lead time is typically 5–7 business days.
How do I know which filter media is right for my dust?
Tell us the dust type, operating temperature range, and whether there’s any moisture or chemical exposure in the gas stream. We’ll recommend the right media for your specific conditions — and we’ll put it in writing. If we recommend a media that underperforms in your application, we make it right.
Do you provide documentation for compliance purposes?
Yes. Every order includes a Certificate of Conformance on request. Test reports for efficiency ratings, temperature ratings, and PTFE membrane performance are available for pharmaceutical, food processing, and high-stakes regulated environments.
Can you ship same-week to Nevada or California?
In-stock sizes typically ship within 1–2 business days from our Arizona location. California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah facilities typically receive standard ground shipments in 1–3 days after processing. For urgent needs, call us directly at 602-456-9661 and we’ll confirm availability and expedite options.
