14x25x2 MERV 8 Pleated Air Filter, XTREME+Plus, Case of 12

Description

You are buying these 12 at a time because somebody on your crew has to change them, and the last thing you need is a filter that comes apart in the rack.

That is the reason we carry this one. Self supported synthetic pleat, no metal grid, moisture resistant beverage board frame. Wire grids rust, and a rusted grid is how media ends up downstream in the coil you were trying to protect.

Parker rates this media at 70 percent efficiency on particles in the 3.0 to 10.0 micron range. That is a coil protector doing coil protector work. It is not doing much for the air people in the building breathe, and we would rather tell you that than sell you on it.

If indoor air quality is the actual job on this rack, the MERV 13 in this same size is $6.91 more per filter.

Where MERV 8 is exactly right: pre filtering ahead of higher efficiency media, shops and warehouses where the dust load would blind off a MERV 13 early, and any rack where you have taken a static reading and do not have the pressure budget to spend.

When this is the wrong call

If the job on this rack is indoor air quality, MERV 8 is not the answer, and changing it more often will not turn it into one. Move to the MERV 13 in this size, $6.91 more per filter, and take a static reading first.

If you are filtering to a written IAQ or LEED requirement, treat this as a pre filter. It is not the primary.

If your rack only accepts 1 inch, this filter does not fit. Check the slot before you order a case.

Sizes are nominal to industry standard.

Change interval. Set it by measured pressure drop across the filter, not by a date. The manufacturer does not publish a service interval for this line.
