You have racks where a pleated filter is money you will never get back, and this is what goes in them.
The P312 is a disposable panel. Spun glass media in a disposable frame, built to catch the large material and get thrown away without anyone thinking about it. At $9.35 a filter you are not protecting a coil from fine dust. You are keeping lint, hair and construction debris out of a blower.
Where the 25x25x2 belongs: construction filters during a build or a remodel, when you are pulling and pitching on a short cycle and pleated money would be wasted. Make up air units. Return grilles on a heavy debris load. Any application where the job is bulk capture at the lowest cost per change, and where you would rather buy a case than think about it again this quarter.
Parker lists this filter as MERV Not Rated. We are not going to put a number on it that they did not publish. If you need a rated filter for a spec or a submittal, this is not it, and the XTREME+Plus pleated line is.

When this is the wrong call
If anything in your building needs a MERV rating on paper, this filter cannot give you one. The manufacturer does not publish one for it.
If you are trying to protect a coil, a panel filter is not the tool. Fine dust passes straight through. Use a pleated MERV 8 at minimum.
If your rack only accepts 1 inch, this filter does not fit.
