DustHog VF Fixed Ducted Collector

Your capture point is already decided. The VF is the V-Series without the bench or the cart, a self contained collector you duct to wherever the dust actually is, whether that is a machine enclosure, a hood you already own, or a fixed cell that is not going to move.

Your VF collector, ProTura cartridges, and replacement parts come through an authorized Parker distributor, priced off the factory list and shipped anywhere in the country.

What it is

The collector, and nothing you do not need

The VF is the fixed ducted build of the V-Series. It brings the same cartridge, the same automatic pulse cleaning, and the same controls as the bench and the portable, without a work surface or casters attached, because your capture is coming from somewhere else.

That makes it the flexible one. If you have an existing hood, an enclosure with a takeoff, or a machine that already has a port on it, the VF connects to it and you are done.

It is also the widest choice in the series. The VF is the only V-Series build offered at 750 CFM with a 3 HP motor, which is how you get a carbon or HEPA after-filter without stepping all the way up to 1,500 CFM.

Compare it against the VB downdraft bench when the work sits at a table, and the VP portable when the station moves.

The middle row is the one people miss. A 750 CFM unit with a 3 HP motor gives you the after-filter options at the lower airflow, and it is offered on the VF only. If you need HEPA on the discharge but 1,500 CFM is more air than the application wants, that build is the answer.

Airflow at the hood is not airflow at the collector. The 750 and 1,500 CFM figures are the unit’s rating. What you actually capture depends on your duct length, diameter, elbows, and hood design, and a long or badly turned run will cost you more than people expect. Media

Two cartridges, and when the fire retardant one earns its cost

Parker certifies the Advanced Nanofiber cartridge at MERV 15 and states it lasts 50% longer than an 80/20 filter, with effective sub-micron particle removal.

You order it as ProTura Nanofiber or ProTura FR Nanofiber. FR is the fire retardant media, and it is the one to specify if you are pulling grinding sparks down the duct. The price difference between the two is small enough that it is rarely the deciding factor.

On any 3 HP build you can add a carbon after-filter for odor or a HEPA after-filter where the discharge returns to an occupied room.

When the VF is not right for you

Your emissions are explosive

Parker’s V-Series manual instructs plainly that these units are not to collect emissions which are explosive. If your material is or might be combustible, this is not the machine, and it is not a decision to make from a product page. Start on the combustible dust side instead.

You still need the capture designed

The VF assumes you already have a hood, an enclosure, or a port. If the question is how to capture the dust in the first place, the machine is the easy part and the hood is the hard part. See source capture arms, or book an assessment and we will work the capture first.

You have several pickup points to serve

One VF serves one duct run well. Multiple simultaneous pickups need a central collector sized for the total, with the duct balanced across branches. See cartridge dust collectors.

Your contaminant is oil mist or coolant

A dry cartridge loads up fast on liquid aerosol. That is mist collector work. See SmogHog mist collectors.

VF questions

What is the difference between the VF and the VB?

The collector is the same. The VB has an integrated downdraft work surface, so the bench is the capture point. The VF has no bench and no arm, so you duct it to your own capture. Pick the VF when the capture already exists or has to sit somewhere a table cannot go.

What motor sizes does the V-Series come in?

One and three horsepower, across the whole series. There is nothing in between.

Can I get HEPA at 750 CFM?

Yes, on the VF, and only on the VF. The after-filters are offered on 3 HP builds, and the VF is the one build in the series available as a 750 CFM unit with a 3 HP motor. On the bench and the portable, HEPA means stepping up to 1,500 CFM.

Does it need compressed air?

Yes. The automatic pulse cleaning system needs 90 to 100 PSI. If your compressor is already at its limit, say so before you order, because that changes what we would recommend.

Can I run it on combustible dust?

No. Parker’s manual states these units are not to collect explosive emissions. If there is any chance your material is combustible, the right first step is testing your dust, not buying a collector.

What filters does it take, and can I get them from you?

ProTura Nanofiber or ProTura FR Nanofiber cartridges, plus carbon or HEPA after-filters on the 3 HP builds. We stock Parker media, so your reorder does not depend on who sold you the collector. See cartridge filters.
