Description
Your rooftop unit or air handler takes a 18x22x1, and you want a filter that holds its shape in the rack from the day it goes in until the day it comes out.
This is the Parker DP Max MX40, a MERV 10 pleated filter with an expanded metal support grid made of galvanized steel laminated to the media. The grid keeps the pleats spaced under airflow, so the filter does not bow or collapse into the coil as it loads. The frame is moisture resistant beverage board, and the media is 100 percent thermally bonded synthetic that does not support microbial growth.
It is the same Parker DP Max MX40 line sold through Trane’s own parts network for Trane rooftop units. If you run Trane equipment, see which size and how many your unit takes.
MERV 10 sits one step above MERV 8. You get better capture on the fine dust that loads a coil, without the pressure drop of a MERV 13.
Ten cases or more drops you to $9.97 a filter, freight included.
When this is the wrong call
If the job on this rack is indoor air quality to a written MERV 13 requirement, this filter does not meet it. Take a static pressure reading before you move up to MERV 13.
If your filters live in a damp air stream, such as a makeup air unit pulling in fog or rain, a self supported pleat with no metal in it is the better fit.
If your rack only accepts a different depth, this filter does not fit. Check the slot before you order a case.
