Description
Your shop air does not clear itself. Smoke and dust rise, spread across the ceiling, and settle back down on everybody working under it, which is why the haze looks worse at 3pm than it did at 7am. An ambient air cleaner breaks that cycle by pulling room air through filter media and putting it back, over and over, all shift.
The M-11 is the small one. It hangs in a one man weld bay, a school shop, a pottery studio, a cabinet shop back room, anywhere the space is too small to justify a 3,000 CFM cabinet but the haze still hangs in the air at the end of the day.
This unit moves 875 CFM and runs at 48 dBA. Air King builds it in Cedar Falls, Iowa, out of 16 gauge cold rolled steel with a chemical resistant powder coat, and it arrives on a variable speed switch and a 10 foot cord, so you hang it, plug it into a standard outlet, and turn it on.

Who this is not for
Straight answers, so you do not buy the wrong box.
- You need capture at the tool. An ambient cabinet filters the room. It does not pull smoke off the puddle or chips off the wheel. If the operator is leaning into the plume, you want source capture, and a hood or an arm will do more for that operator than any ceiling unit.
- Your dust is combustible. Ambient cabinet units are not built or rated for combustible dust service. Wood flour, aluminum, magnesium, sugar, grain, and plenty of metals fall in that bucket. Call us before you buy anything, and we will point you at equipment that fits.
- You need heating, cooling, or make-up air. This recirculates the air already in your building. It does not condition it and it does not bring in outside air.
- You want it to fix a ventilation problem on paper. An ambient unit lowers what is floating in the room. It is not a substitute for a ventilation design where one is required.
