Legend Series Baghouse Dust Collector
Quick-change hopper · Inline separator · Even-fill design
2,000–5,000 CFM · 5–15 HP · Built for wood dust
Your woodworking operation generates two very different waste streams: heavy chips and shavings from cutting and milling, and fine dust from sanding and routing. Most baghouse collectors send all of it straight to the filter bags — which means your expensive media takes the full brunt of the heavy material. The Legend Series from US Duct separates those streams, capturing up to 90% of chips and debris before they ever reach the bags. The result is filter life that stretches 3–5× longer than a standard baghouse.
Your maintenance crew will appreciate the quick-change hopper most. What used to take four hours and a mess of escaped dust now takes 30 seconds, one person, and no tools. A self-sealing design and positive seal indicator keep the process clean and safe. Slide out the hopper, empty it, slide it back — the system stays under negative pressure the whole time.
Your shop size and equipment mix determines which model fits. Four CFM configurations from 2,000 to 5,000 CFM cover everything from small cabinet shops to large production facilities processing pine, oak, MDF, plywood, and composite materials.

Three Innovations That Change Everything
The 90% Difference: Inline Separator Technology
Most baghouse collectors send 100% of your dust directly to the filter bags. Heavy chips, long shavings, and abrasive particles all hit your expensive filter media, shortening bag life and increasing pressure drop.
The Legend inline separator uses reduced air velocity and centrifugal force to drop out 90% of debris before it reaches the baghouse. Large chips and heavy particles settle into the collection hopper while only fine dust continues to the bags. This pre-separation dramatically reduces the dust loading on your filters.
The separator installs directly in your main duct run between your machines and the collector. Available in 6 to 26-inch diameters to match your ductwork size. Built with heavy-gauge steel and includes a viewing spool so you can see the separation happening in real time.
Woodworking operations report 3–5× longer bag life after adding the inline separator. Less frequent bag changes means less downtime, lower filter costs, and fewer interruptions to production.
30-Second Bag Changes with Quick-Change Hopper
Traditional baghouse hoppers require unbolting clamps, removing the entire hopper assembly, replacing the collection bag, and re-sealing everything. This process takes 2–4 hours and creates a mess of escaped dust.
The Legend quick-change hopper uses a self-sealing design that lets you swap bags in 30 seconds. No tools required. No dust spillage. No production shutdown. One person can handle the entire change process.
The hopper automatically seals when you slide it into position. A positive seal indicator confirms you’re locked in properly. When the bag is full, you simply slide out the hopper, wheel it to your dumpster, empty it, and slide it back in. The system maintains negative pressure throughout the entire process.
Real-world results: Shops running single shifts report going from daily bag changes to once-per-week changes. Multi-shift operations that were changing bags twice per day now change them once per shift.
Even-Fill Design Maximizes Filter Life
Standard baghouse collectors often have uneven airflow distribution. Some bags receive heavy dust loading while others barely work. This happens because the incoming duct dumps dust directly onto the bags closest to the inlet, while bags on the far side of the collector see minimal flow.
The Legend even-fill design uses a specially engineered inlet plenum that distributes airflow evenly across the entire filter bank. Every bag receives approximately equal dust loading. Every bag works at full capacity. Every bag wears at the same rate.
When all bags work equally, you get maximum filtration capacity from your collector. You also avoid the situation where a few overloaded bags create high pressure drop while other bags remain clean and underutilized. The result is more consistent airflow, lower operating costs, and longer intervals between filter replacements.

Cost Savings & ROI
Filter Life Extension
The inline separator removes 90% of material before it reaches your bags. This typically extends bag life from 6 months to 18–24 months, reducing annual filter costs by 60–70%.
Labor Savings
Traditional bag changes require 2–4 hours of maintenance time. The 30-second quick-change system eliminates these shutdowns. A shop changing bags three times per week saves approximately 300–500 hours annually.
Production Uptime
Faster bag changes mean less production interruption. For shops running multiple shifts, this translates to thousands of dollars in recovered production time per year.
Disposal Efficiency
The inline separator concentrates waste into dense, compacted loads rather than spreading it across multiple filter bags. This reduces disposal frequency and hauling costs.
Industries & Applications
Woodworking Operations
Cabinet shops, furniture manufacturers, millwork facilities, and lumber processing. Handles table saws, planers, jointers, sanders, CNC routers, and panel saws. Works with pine, oak, maple, cherry, walnut, MDF, plywood, particleboard, and composites.
Plastics Manufacturing
Plastic fabrication shops processing acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, and composite plastics generate fine dust during cutting, routing, and grinding. The Legend collector captures these particles while the inline separator removes larger chips and trimmings.
Vocational Training Programs
Trade schools and vocational programs teaching woodworking, cabinetmaking, and carpentry need reliable dust collection that students can operate safely. The Legend Series provides OSHA-compliant filtration with simple maintenance appropriate for educational environments.

When the Legend Series Is Not the Right Choice
The Legend Series is the best baghouse available for woodworking. But it’s not the right fit for every application. Here’s when another collector is the better call.
You Need More Than 5,000 CFM
The Legend Series tops out at 5,000 CFM. Large production facilities running many machines simultaneously — sawmills, high-volume flooring plants, large panel processing lines — often need 10,000 CFM or more. For those applications, a larger modular baghouse or a custom engineered system is the correct path.
Metal, Concrete, or Fine Chemical Dust
The Legend Series is engineered for wood chips, shavings, and sawdust. For fine metal dust, concrete/silica dust, pharmaceutical powders, or other process dusts that require higher filtration efficiency and tighter containment, a cartridge dust collector with pulse-jet cleaning is typically the better fit.
Combustible Dust Applications
If your facility’s dust hazard analysis (DHA) classifies your wood dust as a deflagration hazard requiring explosion protection per NFPA 660, the Legend Series needs to be paired with compliant explosion venting, isolation, and suppression systems. It is not a standalone compliance solution for facilities with formal combustible dust classifications — an explosion protection assessment should come before equipment selection.
Outdoor or Unprotected Installations
The Legend Series is designed for indoor installation with standard weather protection. Facilities in harsh outdoor environments — direct sun, rain exposure, extreme temperature swings — require weatherized enclosures or a collector built specifically for outdoor placement. Arizona summer heat in particular can affect controls and filter media without proper shielding.
Single-Machine, Very Small Shops
A shop running one table saw or one sander may not need a Legend 20 at 2,000 CFM. For very small operations with minimal dust generation, a smaller single-stage collector or a portable unit may be a more cost-effective entry point. The Legend Series delivers the most value when you’re running multiple machines and fighting bag change frequency.
