I-Portable 1,500 CFM Fume Extractor
Self-cleaning reverse pulse · 9-ft stay-put arm · Integrated 15×20″ downdraft surface · Spark arrestance · 120V plug-and-play · Ships in 48 hours
Your welding and grinding stations need fume capture that moves with the work — not a fixed system that forces your operators to stay in one spot. The I-Portable puts 1,500 CFM of source capture on wheels with a 9-foot stay-put arm that holds position once set, so your operators can place it exactly where it needs to be and leave it there without it drifting during the shift.
The integrated 15×20″ downdraft surface adds a second capture method for bench work — so the same unit handles both arm-positioned fume extraction and downdraft grinding or deburring without switching equipment. The self-cleaning reverse pulse filter maintains consistent suction throughout the day without stopping to shake or replace media.
Pass-or-free guarantee applies. We confirm the I-Portable is correctly sized for your welding process before it ships. If it doesn’t meet OSHA exposure limits for your application, we fix it at no cost. See our 2026 cost guide for how portable units compare to central systems in total cost.
What Sets It Apart from Standard Portable Extractors
Arm + Downdraft in One Unit
The I-Portable combines a 9-foot positioning arm for welding fume capture with a built-in 15×20″ downdraft surface for bench grinding and deburring. Most portable extractors do one or the other. This one handles both — one unit covers two different capture methods at the same station.
9-Foot Stay-Put Arm
The flexible arm holds position once placed — it doesn’t drift back or need to be repositioned mid-shift. Standard portable arms use spring tension or friction joints that creep over time. The stay-put design means your operator sets the capture point once and it stays there through the weld.
Self-Cleaning During Operation
The reverse pulse system automatically cleans the nanofiber cartridge at set intervals without shutting down airflow. Your filter efficiency stays consistent throughout the shift. No stopping to tap-clean, shake, or replace media mid-day — the unit maintains its own performance.
Spark Arrestance Built In
The built-in spark trap and MERV-15 fire-retardant nanofiber cartridge make the I-Portable safe for welding, grinding, and plasma cutting applications. No need to add a separate spark arrester or worry about filter fire from grinding sparks entering the unit — it’s designed for these processes from the start.
120V Plug-and-Run
Standard 120V outlet, 1.5 HP motor, no electrician or installation required. Roll it to any station in the shop, plug it in, and your team has source capture immediately. Heavy-duty casters with locking wheels keep it stable during operation and easy to move when stations change.
Ships in 48 Hours
In stock and ships within 48 hours of confirmed order. When your OSHA inspection is next week or a new process is starting Monday, the I-Portable closes the compliance gap without lead time. Most customers have it running by end of the week they order.

Where the I-Portable Gets Deployed
Mobile Welding Operations
Welders moving across a floor working on structural steel, fixtures, or large fabrications where a fixed arm can’t follow the work. The I-Portable rolls station to station.
Shops Without Fixed Stations
Job shops and custom fabricators whose layouts change by job. No ductwork commitment — the I-Portable adapts to wherever the work is today.
Compliance Gaps Before Central Install
Facilities engineering a central system but needing coverage in the interim. The I-Portable protects workers while the permanent system is being specified and installed.
Welding + Grinding Combo Stations
Operations that weld and then grind the same part. The arm handles fume during welding; flip to the downdraft surface for grinding. One unit, two capture modes.
Leased Facilities
Operations in leased space where permanent ductwork modifications aren’t permitted or practical. Full compliance with zero permanent installation.
Plasma Cutting Operations
Hand-held plasma cutting on plate or structural material. The spark-safe design handles the high spark load from plasma; the arm positions at the cut zone.
When the I-Portable Is Not the Right Solution
The I-Portable is built for flexibility and source capture — but if your operation has 4 or more fixed welding stations running continuously, a central cartridge collector with ductwork will be more cost-effective per station and more reliable long-term. Central systems also make it easier to add explosion protection and HEPA recirculation if your application requires it.
For enclosed welding booths with integrated extraction, the I-Portable adds redundancy rather than value — the booth’s built-in system already handles capture more efficiently for that geometry. And for combustible metal dust applications (grinding aluminum, magnesium, or titanium), a wet collector is required under NFPA 660 — dry portable extraction is not compliant for those materials.
If you’re not sure whether portable or central is the right direction, our free shop assessment walks through your specific operation before we recommend anything.
